Inspired by Passions, Hobbies and the Open Road

The Beginning..

As a kid my family always had one of those old school conversion vans we’d take on vacation once a year. The trip was always to Florida, my sister and I always packed snacks, blankets and a tv to watch movies. We had a bed in the back when we got tired and we rode in style.

Fast forward to adulthood my friends and I started traveling extensively several times a year living out of a tent, a car or on friends floors. Sometimes months at a time. What drove us? To visit new skateparks, countries and to simply see new things. We had our time roughing it and proved to ourselves we can live out of a backpack. On our travels we’d see others living in the comfort of their converted vans. Something we dreamed to have. It was the obvious next step for us.

Having no skills or prior knowledge with electrical, plumbing or even using power tools I felt it’d be impossible to get a van of my own. So 2 years before I bought my first van I began obsessing over how to videos. I learned how to install a Maxxair fan, the pros and cons of wiring in parallel vs series and how to install a heater all before using a drill for my first time.

When it was time to get a van I moved back in with my family, worked on my credit, had 3 jobs (Barista, park attendant and teaching English to kids in China) and even donated plasma for extra cash. I sold my Honda Civic and used the money for a down payment on a used 2015 Ford Transit 250 with 40k miles.

It was one of the best decisions I ever made.

When I hit the road I discovered so much more financial freedom. Even though I had a van payment it was less than the rent I paid for in Florida. The best part? I owned it. This allowed me to travel all of the lower 48 states in the USA, Mexico, several provinces in Canada and even afford overseas travel.

But I needed work that I’d be proud to do. So I started searching online for people who needed help with their camper vans. I missed the project, the feeling of accomplishment and I wanted to help someone find the same freedom I found. So I found my first job helping someone complete their build in Denver, Colorado.

After several jobs helping people with their camper vans I decided to build a van to sell. It was the biggest job I took on and with the help of many people it was complete and ready to sell. Our first sale went to a nice kid in Southern California to live in it full time. That was exactly the home for that van that I envisioned. Someone to enjoy it fully for years to come.

But I felt I could’ve been faster, more efficient and built the van better. So I started searching for work at a company to build my skills. I was hired at a company in Denver I worked at for 3 months before being offered a better position at a shop north of Denver. I started at the new shop head of electrical for camper vans and within a year I rose through the ranks to Head of Camper Vans. I learned so much through these jobs thanks to my employers and the teams so when I felt I learned everything I could I decided to do my own thing again.

My goals?

To help all walks of life who want to live this lifestyle. Since I live and work out of my van I’m able to help more people at a much more affordable price point. No shop prices to take into account, no extra fees, no employees to pay just product straight to consumer with labor and love in every project.
